Christmas is this Saturday, Dec. 25. We wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year. The Church services in Batchtown are Thursday, Dec. 23, Christmas Eve Eve at 7 p.m. at the Methodist Church, Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church and Christmas Day, Dec. 25, at 8 a.m. at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church. Other Catholic Church services in the county are: Christmas Eve 4 p.m. at St. Mary’s in Brussels, 6:00 p.m. at St. Anselm’s in Kampsville, midnight at St. Joseph’s in Meppen, and Christmas Day 8:00 am at St. Barbara’s in Batchtown, 9:30 a.m. at St. Norbert’s in Hardin and 11a.m. at St. Michael’s in Michael.
Delmar and Barb Bick celebrated Christmas on Sat. and Sun. Dec. 18 and 19 with their kids and grandkids. All had a wonderful time.
Linda Russell celebrated Christmas with her kids Cindy and Steve Meszaros, and Hayden, Bob and Bonnie Stepanek and Austin, and Michael, and Jeremy and Angie Russell and Zoe, and Sadie, Everyone enjoyed opening their gifts, and playing various games together in the afternoon, and evening.
Gus and Stacey Wallendorf celebrated Easton’s Confirmation with a party at their home. Those present were Great Grandmother Irene Wallendorf, and Grandparents: Kathy Wallendorf, and Scott and Theresa Moore, and Brandon, Maddy, Andy, Ally, and Riggs, Calvin, Monica, Lisa Klaas and sons and friends. Everyone enjoyed being with Easton on his special day.
Linda Russell attended the Confirmation of her granddaughter, Zoe, Monday, Dec. 20 at St. Mary’s Church in Alton. Parents, Jeremy and Angie Russell, and daughter Sadie, and family attended Zoe’s special day.
Irene Wallendorf had a Christmas lunch for the St. Barbara Altar Society quilters at her home Monday, Dec. 20. Irene is a quilter too, and entertained her friends with a Christmas meal, and good conversation. Quilters there: were: Karen Friedel, Barb Bick, Elsie Kirn, Kathy Wallendorf, and Vera Droege. Marcy Klockenkemper Batchtown reporter, and Irene’s daughters, Hope Klocke, and Lisa Roth also enjoyed the lunch. It was a nice Christmas treat for all.
Happy Anniversary to Gerald and Carrie Friedel. We wish you many more years of happiness.
