Here we are the week of Christmas! For some it is the hustle and bustle of finding the perfect toy for that child or gift for that special someone on your list. Also it is a wonderful time to reminisce with the family Christmas you may remember, maybe it was that single gift you did receive, maybe a special treat momma always made, or perhaps you and dad’s trip to cut the real Christmas tree, or maybe just the spirit of Santa Claus coming, but oh how it still fills ones heart full of so much love and memories that no one can steal! May you keep this in your heart! But for so many, this brings some sadness like a memory of that dear soul gone on before us and years gone by when life was so wonderful and full and how we didn’t even realize it at the time, perhaps you have just lost everything you ever owned to tragedy, maybe sitting in a hospital bed or nursing home, or the soldier/sailor that’s away this holiday ~these are just examples that swell our hearts with tears or emptiness, may you be blessed with peace and kindness. Well I sure hope you can treasure the hope, joy and so much love this season does give! Does one even know how fortunate we are, the one gift that is given to us all. It is called life and what a gift it is! We are here and now, have to give it our best even if it is a struggle! If you believe, I ask you this week to look around your own tribe, your home, your community, your own freedoms of this country(still) and see how blessed you truly are folks! As this little saying goes, “May you never be too grown up to search the skies on Christmas Eve!” but also sure hope we all keep our eye on the sky many a day as we pray for what we have, what we are given and the gift of Him!!
Pleasant Hill Community Club is asking if anyone in need of toy or gift for children please contact them (573)629-7257 and will get with you. They are still having their toy drive. This will be confidential call. A big thank you to this fine group to help out our community.
I cannot thank you all enough for the beautiful comments and compliments since doing the article. It sure is a challenge especially in these times, but I will continue to do my part in getting the news that I can. Sure appreciate any information and will gladly pass along. May each and all have a very Merry Christmas and safe holiday!
