Monmouth College football senior Korbyn Personett (Pittsfield, Illinois) was named to the American Football Coaches Association Division III All-America First Team on Tuesday.
Personett led all Division III players in the nation with 16 sacks and 26 tackles for loss this season. He set the Scots single-season sacks record against Knox on Nov. 13 and finished the season with 52 tackles, six QB hurries, two forced fumbles and four pass break -ups.
Personett was named Midwest Conference First Team and MWC Defensive Line Most Valuable Player last month. He was also named Second Team All-Region by D3football.com last week, representing Region 5.
Personett is the seventh Monmouth player honored by AFCA and the fifth to earn a First Team selection.
The AFCA’s Division III All-America Selection Committee is made up of head coaches representing each conference from each of the AFCA’s seven districts.
