Calhoun/Brussels got a big win against previously undefeated South County at James A. Ringhausen Gym in Hardin.
Calhoun converted 8 of 10 free throws in the 4th quarter to account for all their points in the frame and held on to improve to 8-2 on the season.
Freshman Kate Zipprich led the team in points and rebounds with 13 and 7. Senior Ella Sievers also hit double figures with 10 points, including three of the eight free throws the Lady Warriors converted in the 4th quarter. Ella also had five rebounds and four assists on the night.
Calhoun/Brussels and South County will meet two more times this season as they are in the same pools at the Carlinville Holiday Tournament and North Greene Lady Spartan Classic.

Calhoun/Brussels won their opening game at the Carlinville Tournament, on Monday, by taking down 4 seed Williamsville in pool play.
Calhoun/Brussels played South County on Tuesday in a rematch from a regular season game played in Hardin last week. The Lady Warriors had won that game by a score of 42 – 37. Kate Zipprich hauled in 14 rebounds for a double-double, Ella Sievers recorded 5 assists in addition to her 8 points. Jaelyn Hill also had 5 assists.
