The Calhoun County Health Department (CCHD) has released the COVID-19 report for December, which showed 222 new cases of the virus during the month.
With the new cases, the county has now had 1,041 since the start of the pandemic. There have also been a total of seven deaths related to COVID, since the start.
As of December, 29 percent of the county is fully vaccinated against the virus.
The CCHD regularly holds COVID vaccine clinics and testing, by appointment. They are located at 210 French St. and open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and can be reached at 618-576-2428.
