The Fill Inn Stations Christmas Tree representing Richwoods Fire Department.
The Jersey Calhoun Jaycees announced Richwoods Volunteer Fire Department, represented by the Fill Inn Station, as the winner of the Calhoun Christmas Tree Contest on Saturday, Jan. 1.
Over the last month, businesses have decorated Christmas trees throughout Calhoun County and they asked the community to pay to vote for their tree/organization. Fourteen businesses participated and ten local organizations were represented.
When Julie Brodbeck, manager of The Fill Inn Station, was asked to participate, she did not hesitate to join the contest. Within just a couple of days, they had a Christmas tree at their restaurant, decked out with fire extinguishers, a fire hose, and a firefighter hat to represent Richwoods Volunteer Fire Department.
Their hard work and the community’s support resulted in the Fill Inn Station’s Tree receiving the most votes! This was the Jersey Calhoun Jaycees first project within the county, and it was a success, they raised $750 to donate to Richwoods Volunteer Fire Department.
