Calhoun/Brussels finished pool play with a 2-1 record and a three-way tie with South County and Williamsville. With the tie breaker being free throw percentage, Calhoun finds itself in the 5th place game against Carlinville in the crossover game tomorrow. Junior guard Jaelyn Hill led the Lady Warriors with 11 points and 4 assists as Calhoun/Brussels played everyone on the roster in this game. Williamsville will play Greenfield for the championship, South County will play Nokomis for third place, Gillespie and Lincolnwood play for 7th place.

Jaelyn Hill was not the top scorer,but she knocked down four 3-pointers in the 5th place game of the Carlinville Holiday Tournament against host Carlinville. After a 7-1 Calhoun/Brussels lead to start the game, Jill Stayton went on a 9-0 run by herself to pace Carlinville to a first quarter lead. Stayton scored 15 in the first half and 23 for the game to take high point honors in the contest. Seniors Ella Sievers and Mallory Kamp added 8 points while freshmen Kate Zipprich and Audrey Gilman punched in 15 to account for the rest of the Lady Warriors’ 42 points. Calhoun/Brussels hosts Liberty next Monday in Hardin before a conference showdown at Brown County next Wednesday as the Lady Hornets look to repeat as WIVC champs.

Calhoun/Brussels hosted Liberty and took the win to improve to 12-3 on the season. Junior guard Jaelyn Hill led the Lady Warriors attack and senior forward Ella Sievers followed her up with a 14 point effort. Everyone on the Calhoun/Brussels roster got into the action against Liberty as the Lady Warriors now look at a big matchup with WIVC frontrunner Brown County in Mt. Sterling Wednesday night. Brown County is fresh off a 3rd place finish at the Beardstown Holiday Tournament.
