The Calhoun Warrior varsity boys basketball team lost four games last week to Carlinville, Litchfield, Bunker Hill, and Staunton.
On Monday, Dec. 27. the Warriors faced defeat against the Cavaliers, in a 52-32 game. Calhoun only managed four points in the first quarter to Carlinville’s 10. The subsequent three quarters showed more of the same, with the Warriors scoring five, 14, and nine points to the Cavaliers’ eight, 17, and 17.
Tuesday, Dec. 28, was more of the same, with the Warriors losing their game against the Purple Panthers of Litchfield, 73-65.
The Warriors were again beaten by Bunker Hill’s Minutemen, 41-26, on Wednesday, Dec. 29. In the fourth quarter, Calhoun put up eight points to Bunker Hill’s five, but it was not enough to save the game for the Warriors.
Finally, the Warriors dropped one final game last week, against the Staunton Bulldogs, 54-31. Calhoun managed to outscore the Bulldogs in the second quarter, but only by one point, 10-9.
Overall, the Calhoun Warriors have a 4-9 win-loss record for the season, and a 0-3 win-loss record for the league. They are 1-2 for home games, 0-3 for away games, and 3-4 neutral games.
