Thomas H. Boyd Memorial Hospital will offer a vaccine clinic for both adults and children on Jan. 13 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Reisch Memorial Dining Room.
“We will be offering booster shots along with the initial vaccine for both adults and children between the ages of five and 12,” Boyd Hospital CEO Debbie Campbell said. “We will be offering both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine at this clinic.”
While the hospital has done clinics in Roodhouse and White Hall, this will be the first one actually done in the hospital. Campbell was asked why now.
“Parents are wanting to get their children vaccinated and just the fact that the virus is running so rampant right now in the county we thought we would offer this clinic for everyone, but especially for the school aged children,” Campbell said. “We will be sending something to the schools to let the parents know we will have the vaccine available for the children as well.”
Campbell is asking that those who are planning to come for the vaccine to call and register.
“We need to know how much vaccine to get so we are asking for everyone to call the hospital and ask for extension 1202 by Jan. 12 and that will sign them up,” she said. “For those with insurance, the insurance will pay for both the booster and the initial vaccine. However, for those without insurance coverage, there will be no charge for the vaccine.”
To register for the clinic, call the hospital at 217-942-9410.
