Curtis “Curt” James and Carol Ann Robeen, of Hardin, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary next Thursday, April 28.
The Robeens were married in 1962 at St. Michael’s Church in Michael, Ill., in a double ceremony with Curt’s sister, Patricia, who wed Norbert Gotway. This was the first Catholic wedding to be performed at the newly built church.
Curt and Carol are parents to Julie (Butch) Sunderland, of Godfrey; JoAnn (Terry) Hausmann, of Kampsville; Brad (Tammy) Robeen, of Willow, Ark.; and the late Michael James Robeen. Additionally, the couple has 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Carol was a Calhoun County Ambulance Coordinator and Jerseyville Hospital EMT and Unit Clerk; and Curt was Calhoun County Treasurer and owned/ran an orchard for many years, as well as construction work. They have both retired.
Curt and Carol plan to spend their anniversary gathering with family.
