Pittsfield Cub Scout Pack 18 held their annual local Pinewood Derby on Sunday, April 10.
According to Cub Master Alisha Ballinger, participants will have the chance to compete in a district-wide derby this weekend.
Usually it’s just the top two that get to go to district, but this year anyone can go,” Ballinger said.
Ballinger said that the district derby will take place this Saturday, April 23, at the Quincy Mall starting at 10 a.m.
At the local pinewood derby competition, winners were:
1st Place – David McDonald
2nd Place and Best Car Design – Jaxon Jones
3rd Place – DJ Henry
4th Place and Scout Award – Johnathan Kincaid
Ballinger added that several members of Boy Scout Troop 152 helped to facilitate the local derby, including Will Henry, Thomas Henry, Leroy Henry, Ryan Henry, and CJ McDonald.
In other Scouting news, Boy Scout Troop 152 will hold an Eagle Court of Honor this Sunday, April 24, at 4 p.m. at the Pittsfield American Legion to honor Marco Ballinger, Gavin Graham, and Stone Wintjen.
