The Carrollton FFA team competed in the Ag Mechanics contest held at John Wood Community College on March 23. Brady Carroll placed second in the electricity competition. Willie Gilmore placed third in Ag Power. Travis Evans placed second in the welding competition. Wes Bland placed second in the surveying competition. The Carrollton FFA team traveled to Triopia to compete in the Parliamentary Procedure, Creed Speaking, Ag Issues and Ag Business contests on March 17. The greenhand team placed third and the varsity team placed second in their respective Parliamentary Procedure competitions. Sam Droste placed third in Creed Speaking. The Ag Issues team placed second with their topic on wind turbines. The Ag Business team placed first overall at the competition. Seven students received individual awards for Ag Business: Jude Varble placed eighth, Clay Merkle placed seventh, Graci Albrecht placed sixth, Matt Camden placed fifth, Haley Schnelten placed fourth, Wes Bland placed third, and Caleb Gourley took first place.
