Patricia Lynn ‘Cookie’ Smith | 65 | White Hall

Patricia Lynn “Cookie” Smith, age 65 of White Hall entered the gates of Heaven and gained her angel wings on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville. She was born July 26, 1956 in East St. Louis, the daughter of Richard and Patty Dyer Icide. She married Ronald (Shorty) Smith May 27, 1978 in White Hall and he survives. Also surviving are three sons, Joe (Amy) Snyder of Festus, MO, Douglas (Tracey) Smith of Carrollton, Andrew Smith of Roodhouse, a daughter, Misty (Steve) Bellet of Jerseyville, seven grandchildren, Jaidelynn, Brady, Drew, Dylan, Jacob, Olivia, and Ava, four brothers, Richard (Lisa) Icide II, Michael Icide, Chris McKean and Travis Icide and a sister Selina Stadniki of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Terri Haley.
Cookie worked as an LPN at Passavant Hospital and later as a Home Health Nurse. She was well known throughout the entire area for her beautiful singing voice! She sang in country western bands at various opries, and at church. She enjoyed camping with her family, traveling (especially to the ocean), and was a huge Wizard of Oz fan since she was a little girl. Above all else she loved her family! Cookie was a deeply devoted, loving, proud mother, nana, and wife. Her family was her entire world.
Everyone that met Cookie loved her. She had a sweet, infectious personality that lit up the room. She will be missed by all who knew her, and her family will miss her terribly. They are comforted by the fact that Cookie loved Jesus, was saved by his blood, and now is resting peacefully in his loving arms.
Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the Hillview Baptist Church with the burial to follow in Pine Tree Cemetery. Visitation was held at 10 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Hillview Baptist Church.
