The Greene County Fair will be held a week earlier than usual this week. This year, the fair will open on May 31 and run through June 4.
The activities begin on May 31 with a sheep show and the opening of the Art Hall. That night, the biggest draw of the fair will take place – the Miss Greene County Pageant.
This year there are six beautiful young ladies vying for the title of Miss Greene County. They are: Kenleigh Megginson of Roodhouse, Kennedy Ruyle of Carrollton, Laekyn Dobson of Roodhouse, Sabrina Crabtree of Hillview, Sarah McEvers of White Hall and Rachel Armold of Greenfield.
For the title of Junior Miss Greene County there are 13 young ladies who are battling for the title. They are: Addyson Simmons, Aubri Campbell, Collins Newton, Ella Hunn, Hannah Hoaglin, Lillian Schmidt, Madelyn Grummel, Mila Blumenstein and Veronica Dawdy, all of Carrollton; Debra Rynders and Lakely Albrecht of Greenfield; Kenna Brannan of Eldred and Nina Daniels of White Hall.
The Little Miss Greene County category also has a lot of little cuties to choose from with 11 little ladies to choose from. They include: Gracie Session, Harper Hoagland, Kayli Ross, Layla Macatangay, Paisley Osterman, Reese Lake, Shayleigh Bruner and Emmalynn Goodman, all of Carrollton; Isabelle Armold and Sloane Weller of Greenfield and Saylor Rachel of White Hall.
The pageant will begin at 6:30 p.m. under the Grandstand.
On June 1, there will be the steer weigh-in and the harness racing which will begin at 6 p.m.
On June 2, there will be the beef and swine show and for the kids, there will be mutton busting with registration opening at 5:30 p.m. From 4-8 p.m. will be the 4-H weigh in and at 7 p.m. bring out the whole family for some rodeo action.
On June 3, there will be the FFA show beginning at 8:30 a.m., the goat show, beginning at 4 p.m. and that evening the truck and tractor pull beginning at 7 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., the band Brushville will be playing in the Beverage Garden.
On June 4, there will be something going on for everyone in the entire family. The day begins early at 8 a.m. with the BBQ cookoff check-in along with the 4-H show for rabbits, swine, beef, sheep and goats. From noon to 4 p.m., there will be a truck show on the grounds.
Beginning at 12:30 p.m., the BBQ cook-off judging starts and at 1:30 p.m. the cornhole tournament begins. At 5 p.m., the 4-H auction will begin.
At 7 p.m., the Demolition Derby will begin and following the Demolition Derby fireworks will light up the night. The band, Flip the Frog will end the 2022 Greene County Agriculture Fair playing in the Beverage Garden following the fireworks.
