Calhoun county has seen a rise in COVID-19 cases in the past few months.
There were six positive cases in March and then five cases in April, followed by a significant increase in May with 28 cases. The Calhoun County Health Department (CCHD) stated they don’t know what’s causing the causes, but they have been mild and nonlife-threatening.
The CCHD offers rapid antigen tasting daily from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at their office. Testing is scheduled by appointments which can be made by calling the CCHD number at 618-576-2428. Vaccinations are also available for appointment, which are scheduled for Thursday afternoons.
Updates and other information about COVID-19 can be found at www.calhouncountyhealth.net or on the CCHD facebook page.
