Scott County Health Department (SCHD) is once again offering school/sports physicals at its offices at 335 West Cherry Street in Winchester.
Currently, SCHD is providing physicals on Tuesday, July 12, and Thursday, July 14, from 1-7 p.m. both days.
Children entering kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade are required to have a school physical.
In addition, students who wish to participate in any school sporting events need to have sports physicals prior to the start of their respective sport’s season.
Appointments for physicals can be made by calling the SCHD office at 217-742-8203.
Parents/guardians are asked to indicate whether their students need a school physical, sports physical, or both.
Limited appointments are available and will be filled on a first come first served basis.
SCHD will also be able to do immunizations during the physical appointments.
If SCHD adds any additional school/sports physical dates, the public will be notified.
If a child is not in need of a physical for school and/or sports, but needs immunizations, those parents/guardians can call the SCHD office to set up an appointment for child vaccines as well. Vaccination appointments are offered every day SCHD is open, which is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Students entering kindergarten, 6th grade, and 12th grade have immunization requirements.
If parents/guardians are unsure if their child needs a vaccine, SCHD staff can check the child’s immunization record for them.
