Mark your calendars for the Alsey Burgoo

The annual Alsey Burgoo is set for Aug. 6 and plans a full day of good food, good fun and good entertainment.

The theme of the 2022 Burgoo is Redneck Yacht Club with John Fryman as Captain. Freeman will be honored for his many community projects at 7 p.m.
To kick off the day kettle service will start at 6:30 a.m.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. To make a parade entry, call 217-491-6190

The Jacksonville Drumline Institute will be on stage directly after the parade.

Next up will be the Little Mr. and Mister, Junior Miss and Miss Alsey introductions. Crowning will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Alsey’s famous burgoo, chicken and fish will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Isiah Christianson Band will perform at 2 p.m.

The evening will conclude with the crowning of the royalty and the salute to Fryman.
