Multiple upcoming riverfront activities were approved last Wednesday evening, Aug. 10, at the Hardin Village Board meeting.
The board approved a request for a Movie in the Park event on Friday, Aug. 19, from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at William C. Harman Memorial Park. In addition to a showing of the Disney film, “Finding Nemo,” the evening will include a free dinner for kids.
Several dates for Music in the Park nights were also approved for Friday, Aug. 26, and Friday, Sept. 2, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A “Junk in the Trunk” rummage sale was approved for Friday evening on Sept. 30, and the annual Danielle Hurley St. Norberts Duck Race was approved for the same weekend on Sunday, October 2.
The board granted approval for a request to hold Down on the Farm Day on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., as well as Christmas in Calhoun on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
A date for the annual Free Trappers Rendezvous was discussed during the meeting. The event was approved from Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15 and 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The board also discussed the return of the River Raft Race for 2023 after a great turnout last year. The board agreed to hold the event again next summer on Saturday July 8.
The board also accepted an invitation to participate in the Kampsville Parade this Saturday, Aug. 20, and voted to move the Village Board meetings to the second Monday of the month starting in September.
The Hardin Village Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet again on Monday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. at the Village Hall, located at 2 Lions Street.
