The Jerseyville City Council met last Tuesday evening, Aug. 10, where they approved two items pertaining to Downtown Country Christmas (DTCC) events.
The first approved item was a tourism grant application which was submitted by Julie Pohlman of DTCC Festival Inc. The grant was in the amount of $7,000 for the 2022 Christmas Festival/Bright Nights Celebration.
Next, they discussed and approved a rental application from DTCC for use of the City Center Park Parking Lot C, 120 E. Pearl St., and Parking Lot D, 202 Jefferson St., on Nov. 26 from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. Also approved was the closure of streets and alleys surrounding City Center Park, including North on Jefferson Street to Lions Club/Wittman Park.
In other business, the council approved the renewal of the agreements between the City of Jerseyville, Fire Department, and the Jersey County Health Department in the event of a disaster or bioterrorism event.
There were no public comments made during the meeting.
