After a thorough investigation, a Hardin resident was arrested last week by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) for possession of child pornography.
On July 14, CCSO received an anonymous tip that a resident of Calhoun County was in possession of child pornography on their cellular phone.
The CCSO opened an investigation into the matter and, on July 20, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Tammy E. Wurtsbaugh, age 40, for the offense of Possession of Child Pornography.
On Aug. 30, Wurtsbaugh was arrested and taken into custody for the aforementioned offense and she is currently being held in the Greene County Jail.
The CCSO would like to thank the Illinois State Police Digital Crimes Unit for their assistance in this case.
Wurtsbaugh is innocent until proven guilty.
