St. Francis Junior High Lady Knights traveled to North Greene last week to play the North Greene Lady Warriors.
The seventh-grade girls played a good game but came up just one basket short and lost to the Lady Warriors 18-16.
In the eighth-grade game, it looked the Lady Knights were going to have an easy night ahead of them as they built up a 15-0 lead after the first quarter. But the Lady Warriors kept battling back and pulled to within one, 29-30 with 1:30 left in the fourth quarter.
Twenty seconds later, with 1:10 left in the game, North Greene would take the lead for the first time at 31-30. St. Francis regained their composure and shut down the Lady Warriors while managing to make a free throw and sink another basket to make the final score 34-31 and come away with the win.
