From the desk of Pastor David Slagle – 217-473-1892
From the 70s on Wednesday and Thursday to somewhere around the low 30s is way too soon for me, but we still enjoyed our drive this morning to church. We also enjoyed the great gathering of God’s family, including several from the Alton area. We enjoyed special music from Tina and Amber.
We are still collecting non-perishable food items for the North Greene Food Bank. We heard from one of our family, a praise of answered prayer. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for your faithfulness.
There were six birthdays recognized this morning, including myself who turns 80 this coming Tuesday. It is a blessing to serve the lord at this age, in such a setting as Walkerville Baptist Church.
Our message was on being thankful in all things. Our text was from Psalm 23. the psalmist, David, was thankful in all things including God meeting his needs of God’s protection and his faithfulness. I invite you to read this psalm and see what David experienced– what we learned from David.
We invite you to join us this Wednesday morning for our Bible study at 9:30 a.m. prayer requests are Debbie, unspoken, Diane, and a young child in the hospital.
After the morning worship time, we all fellowshipped by eating together at our annual Thanksgiving dinner. It was a blessing and enjoyed by everyone. Thanks to all who prepared the food. We invite you to join us for our Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 a.m.
God bless.
