The Schumann Memorial Park is all lit up. The “Big Tree” is up and more decorating is being done. Of course when you’re a Village with your very own Christmas Shop, it’s always Christmas magic.
Thank you to everyone who showed their support to the Sons of the Legion and participated in the Sunday Meat Shoots. The Sons of the Legion are very giving in our community; they help fund a Kampsville Christmas Party for the kids and many other events that are done.
We are also still searching for the next Queen. Get your tickets at the Legion. The Kampsville Legion and the auxiliary also give a lot to our community and provide all the candy that Santa hands out at the party. Please help show your support to them.
My team and I are getting ready for Black Friday shopping to assist with the town’s Christmas party. We always look forward to this day. Thank you Jeane Bland for our awesome shirts you made us. We always look forward to Black Friday and our shopping marathon. We’ve had a lot of adventures. I could write a whole book about them, probably.
I will tell you one year my granddaughter, Reagan, and I went and picked up so many basketballs, footballs and volleyballs that the cashier asked if “I coached a team.” Then when we got outside the wind picked up and we had to chase basketballs all over Walmart parking lot. At least we can laugh about it now.
Debby Klunk, Olivia Clowers and myself have begun working on the Basket Raffles. We have some really nice ones in the works. The baskets are how we mainly fund the party.
St. Norbert’s students hosted a wonderful Grandparents Day, last Wednesday. After mass, the students and the teachers surrounded the church and prayed the rosary. The kids then presented their grandparents with homemade gifts and some songs while they enjoyed delicious cinnamon rolls and punch.
Please continue prayers for Whitney Gibson, James Palmer, Wally Swan, Joe Gress, Raymond Sievers, Isabel McGlaughin, Kurt Roth, Jerry Crader, Kathryn Chapman, Bob Banghart, Bruce Williams, Justin Williams, Amy Roth, Joyce Blumenberg, Darren Kress, Zel Blumenberg, Shelly Pohlman and Linda Herkert.
Pretty short column this week as I have a holiday deadline.
Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours.
