The Modern Woodmen held their last chapter dinner of the year last month on Oct. 19, at Illinois River Dock Restaurant, to celebrate Calhoun County Sheriff Bill Heffington.
Modern Woodmen Chapter 18050 named Heffington their Hometown Hero. Chapter Coordinator Allen Johnson said that Heffington was chosen for all of the work he’s done in the community.
“We chose Sheriff because he’s done so much for Calhoun,” said Johnson. “And I’m sure he’ll continue to do great things.”
Johnson went on to thank Illinois River Dock for “serving good food” and “supporting the Modern Woodmen.”
