After serving 32 years as the Greene County Clerk, Debbie Banghart is retiring at the end of this month. She is the longest continuous serving clerk in the State of Illinois, a record that will no doubt stand for a long time. In honor of her retirement, the courthouse held a retirement part for her on Friday, Nov. 18 in the big courtroom where many guests popped in to visit with Banghart, including Carrie Graham, whom she is talking with here. Banghart’s last official day as County Clerk is Nov. 30.
