The JCH wellness center is hosting a fun thanksgiving family/pet run & walk called the turkey trot. The event begins at 7 a.m at the wellness center. The route is 2 miles long and will finish back at the wellness center. The entry for the event is some sort of toiletry or canned food that will be donated to Got Faith ministries. Registration forms are available at the front desk at the wellness center or you can register at the event. All participants will be entered to win a prize.
Friday, Nov. 25
The City of Grafton will be holding their annual Christmas tree lighting with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Grove Memorial Park at 6 p.m.

Downtown Country Christmas celebration.
Nov. 28 through Dec. 9
The JCBA (Jersey County Business Association) 12 Days of Christmas will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Join in on the holiday hunt for a chance to win JCBA Gift Certificates to use at local businesses. Participants will receive a punch card that they can take to get punched at the various participating businesses on their scheduled day for a chance to win. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded.
Saturday, Dec. 3,
-The Home for the Holidays House Tour with the Historic Elsah Foundation will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Visitors will experience a simpler time in the historic Village of Elsah. The event will provide the opportunity to tour selected private homes decorated for the holidays. Many of the homes on the tour were constructed in the mid-19th century, often with the stone from the local quarry and the whole village retains the character and feel of a bygone time.
-Santa’s Chocolate Express returns to Grafton. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. guests will be able to sample and shop chocolate holiday treats, have a chance to enjoy caroling and get to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 5
Jersey County Association for Home and Community Education will hold their Christmas Party at 10 a.m. at the Jerseyville Library. They will play Bingo and have a small craft to do. Everyone brings appetizers. Call Sandy at 618-466-3199 with any questions.
Saturday, Dec. 10
Santa Con will return to Grafton as guests dressed as the man in red will get a chance to shop and bar hop before gathering for a group Santa photo at the Loading Dock at 6 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 11
Families will get a chance to sit down for breakfast with Santa at the Pere Marquette Lodge at 9 a.m. Reservations for the buffet style meal can be made by calling 618-786-2331 ext. 338.
