Congratulations to the G-P Middle School students on their incredible Penny Wars collection! The students brought in an astounding $987.86 to help meet the goal for the Book Fair and to buy books for the GPMS library! Great job, students and families! Mrs. Manker’s class won the pizza party with $251.08 and the class winning snacks from Molly was Jenny Stauffer’s class with 14,333 points!
The Class of 2026 is hosting an Elementary Showdown Basketball game for girls and boys grades K-4 Dec. 10. First game will start at 3 p.m. Information about teams, colors, and coaches will be announced soon. Player cost is $5. General admission is $3. Pulled pork sandwiches and concessions will be available to purchase. Permission slips and money are due by Thursday, Dec. 1.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the Scholastic Book Fair that will take place from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2. Online sales started Monday, Nov. 21. Family Night is Nov. 30 from 5 – 7:30 p.m. There will be a robot there from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Jr High Ag Club invites you to a Family Trivia Night Dec. 3. Adults and students are welcome! Teams of eight and the cost is $100 per team. The fun will be held in the Perry Middle School gym from 6 – 8 p.m. Pulled pork and sides will be available for a donation. Silent auction baskets will be set up for purchase and prizes for the best decorated table will be awarded. You can register your team by sending an email to Ashley Scranton at scrantona@griggsvilleperry.org.
Joey and Katy Kessinger of Rushville visited Dewayne and Nadine Kessinger and Thelma Butler Sunday.

North Pike Fire District will host their eight annual Meet with St. Nick on Saturday, Dec. 17. Come have breakfast with Santa and enjoy the fun!Griggsville Christian Church will host a Christmas Eve Candlelight service beginning at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the services. It was a packed house at Illinois Xtreme Whitetail hunting lodge near Perry Sunday as people poured in to help Donnie Bergman celebrate his 100th birthday. Happy birthday, Donnie!

Dewayne and Nadine Kessinger enjoyed a visit from Claire Kramer of Hamel, last week, and the three of them enjoyed lunch at Nucci’s in Pittsfield. Claire is the daughter of the late Carl Kramer who grew up here and graduated from Griggsville High School.

Dewayne and Nadine Kessinger hosted Thanksgiving dinner with the following people attending: Thelma Butler, Vicki Norris, T.J. and Samantha Kessinger and children Tripp, Peyton and Deni, Joey and Katy Kessinger, Brady and Brynlea Downs, Dakota Kessinger, Emily Brown, Brooklynn and Bryan Brown, Brentin Brown and friend Desirae, Brianna Brown and Chandler Owens, Rick Lynch, and Marvin Lynch. Steve, Jeannie and Lexi Kessinger joined them later in the evening.
Congratulations to Skyler and Allyson (Bingham) Sailors of Nebraska on their birth of their first baby! Palmer Alexis was born Nov. 22 at Methodist Women’s Hospital in Omaha weighing 8 lbs. and 4 oz. Local grandparents are Wayne and Kristine Bingham and great-grandparents Ron and Carolyn Myers.
