The City of Grafton has kicked off the holiday season with Santa Claus stopping by last Friday night to light the Christmas Tree at Grove Memorial Park.
Families got to gather with Santa and Mrs. Claus for photos, hot cocoa and caroling while Santa plugged in the lights and turned on the holiday spirit.
Light displays have filled Grove Memorial Park as well as the visitors center for the season as wreaths and garland line the buildings along Main Street.
This year’s event was organized by the Community Outreach Committee.
“This is the first year that our committee has had the responsibility to put on this event,” committee chair Alderwoman Donna Smith said. “We are planning to make this tree lighting an annual holiday family event.”
