Kampsville News – December 7, 2022

By Diane Brangenberg

Thank you to all who came out on Saturday night for Ham Game Night to help support the St. Anselm’s Cemetery. A very good turnout and lots of fun was had by all.
Calhoun Unit 40 held their Holiday Band Concert on Sunday to a packed gym. Wonderful job by the students and band directors Lindsey Watters and Scotty Browning.
Christmas in Calhoun was this past Saturday and gave everyone a chance to shop local small businesses. I saw lots of little elves enjoying Elf School and some beautiful canvases being painted at the Rastello Room.
Congratulations to Wade and James (Palmer) Gibson who were married on this chilly, but gorgeous Saturday at McCully’s Heritage Project. They then had a small reception in Carrollton with a gorgeous wedding cake made by Debby Klunk.
Baby Kampsville GraceLynn Mapp attended the Carrollton Christmas parade Friday evening.
Congratulations to Coach’s Rod and Trey Hart and their seventh grade basketball boys on winning First Place in the North Greene Tournament.
Congratulations to the eighth grade Lady Warriors on winning the Regional Championship against Greenfield. Good Luck in Sectionals.
We have some awesome basket raffles for the kids Christmas Party Dec. 18, 5-7 in the Center for American Archeology Gym.
Saturday, Dec. 17, there will be a Vendor fair at The Landing. Don’t forget they will also be having a bake sale to benefit the Kids Christmas party. We definitely need baked goods. We will need lots of baking because we will also need sweet treats for the treat walk at the party on Sunday.
Lots of fun stuff you won’t want to miss.
On Dec. 11, the Calhoun Entertainment Company will present their holiday concert beginning at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Hall.
On Monday, Dec. 12, St. Norbert’s students will present a Live Nativity and on Thursday, Dec. 15, the Hardin Presbyterian Church will host “Stuff your Stocking.” Little ones will have the opportunity to fill a stocking full of lots of goodies and they’ll get to see Santa. Always a fun event.
Please add little Isla Latham and her parents to your prayers. She is the daughter of Kolton and Kelsey Latham. She has been battling RSV and is in Children’s Hospital. There is no worse feeling than seeing your little babies suffer and not being able to do anything to help. Also please add Cassie Blackwell to your prayers and continue prayers for Shelly Pohlman, Linda Herkert, Joe Gress, Raymond Sievers, Isabel McGlaughin, Kurt Roth, Jerry Crader, Kathryn Chapman, Bob Banghart, Bruce Williams, Justin Williams, Amy Roth, Joyce Blumenberg, Darren Kress, Zel Blumenberg, Moe Garner, Angie Suhling and Whitney Gibson.
