The Grafton City Council met last week on Tuesday, Jan. 17, and during the brief meeting, only three items of business were addressed.
Before motions were approved, Mayor Mike Morrow gave the mayor’s report, followed by respective reports from Richard Mosby, Mary Lillesve, Jim Spencer, and Donna Smith.
The first item to get approval from the council was resolution 2023-01, supporting the Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Bureau (GRRTB). This is following the State of Illinois certifying destination marketing organization for the City of Grafton. Following the vote, the second item to be approved was a contract from the GRRTB.
Finally, the third and final motion to be approved was updating business license forms, and adding a checkbox for dissemination of personal information for marketing purposes. This also extends to the chamber of commerce.
The council also presented service awards to members of the community who volunteered their services and support to the Grafton History museum. Morrow gave the awards to the following: Mary Lillesve, Kyle Bollinger, Rick Ferguson, Mike Kohlmiller, Gene Smith, Andrew Jackson, and Tom Lenkman.
The council is scheduled to meet again at City Hall on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m.
