Ervin Nolte | 73 | Golden Eagle

Ervin Nolte, 73, of Golden Eagle, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023.
Ervin was born on Oct. 20, 1949, in Carrollton, Illinois to the late Curtis and Eleanor (Goetze) Nolte. He married Rita Moenning on May 8, 1971, at St. Joseph’s Church in Meppen, Illinois.
Ervin had served as an elder and trustee of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in the past. He had also served as the fire district treasurer. An avid farmer, Ervin especially loved working with his son, Mark. He also enjoyed rabbit hunting with his favorite beagle, Lady. He loved working with cars, and recently restored his grandfather’s ‘36 Ford. Ervin was his grandkids’ biggest fan, and would attend as many musicals and basketball/baseball games as he possibly could. More than anything, though, he enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evenings with the love of his life, Rita, and watching the sunset. Ervin was a loving husband, an incredible father and grandfather, and the greatest friend anyone could ever ask for.
Ervin is survived by his wife, Rita, his son, Mark (Jennifer) Nolte, and his siblings, Bernell Weigel and Curt (Karen) Nolte. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Ellie Nolte and Blake Nolte.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kermit Nolte.
Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Gress, Kallal, Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels.
Funeral Services were held Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at St Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Brussels, IL at 10 a.m.
Interment followed at St. Matthews cemetery.
