Jersey State Bank (JSB) in Jerseyville celebrated its 120th year of service to Jersey County, last Friday, Jan. 27, with cupcakes.
The bank, which was opened by local business leaders in 1903, has remained locally owned and independent, according to JSB President/CEO Mark Schaefer.
“We’ve been a locally owned business now for 120 years in Jerseyville,” said Schaefer, “and we’re proud to say that we’re still independent and we look forward to maintaining that independence for another 120 years.”
Schaefer went on to say that maintaining a bank’s independence means that the decisions are made locally and that JSB will continue to provide service that best fits the needs of Jersey County residents.
“Since we’re locally owned, all of our decisions are made locally,” said Schaefer, “and Jersey State Bank is the only community owned bank in Jersey County.”
JSB is located at 1000 S. State St. in Jerseyville and can be reached at 618-498-6466. They also have a branch in Grafton located at 14 E. Main St. which can be reached by calling 618-786-2311.
