Richard Lee Knox | 82 | Carrollton

Richard Lee Knox, age 82 of Carrollton passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023 at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Feb. 20, 1941 in Roodhouse, the son of Frank and Lura Farber Knox. He married his high school sweetheart Judy McCracken Dec. 31, 1960 in White Hall and she preceded him in death Aug. 26, 2010.He is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Joe) Harness of Springfield, Kathy (Matt) Reynolds of Roodhouse; a son, Scott (Paula) Knox of Murrayville; nine grandchildren, Jacob and Luke Harness, Elaina Nguyen, Cara, Emma, and Jenna Reynolds, Emily Bergschneider, Katie and Dawson Knox; a brother, Jim (Mary Jane) Knox of Roodhouse; and a best buddy, Bernie Faul.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
He graduated from Roodhouse High School in 1959. Mr. Knox was a lineman for Illinois Rural Electric, Ameran Illinois retiring in 2004. He was a proud Roodhouse Railroader athlete and a staunch supporter of all thing that involved the Carrollton Hawks. He enjoyed gathering with his family, spending time on is porch swing and watching a really good western movie.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton with burial to follow in White Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
