Several dates throughout the summer were approved at last week’s Hardin Village Board Meeting for upcoming riverfront events.
The board approved a motion to close part of Water Street on Saturday, May 27, for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Scott Reinke Memorial Ride to Fight Suicide. Bud Matthews said the Memorial Ride route will go through the Hog Pit in Grafton before participants make their way to the Barefoot in Hardin.
A motion was also approved for several other riverfront activities including the Garden Expo on Saturday, May 13, and music and movies in the park events on Friday nights in June as well as Friday, July 14, and Friday, July 21. A date for Sunday, Sept.17, was also approved for Junk in the Trunk.
The board also discussed the upcoming Raft Race and approved paying an additional $1,000 towards fireworks due to a rise in costs.
Before moving on to old business, the board approved a motion for a village Easter egg hunt Sunday, April 9.
In old business, the board discussed IDNR grants, an approved grant for the swimming pool, updates on the Public Works Building, and update on the village’s skid steer.
The next board meeting is set for Wednesday, April 12.
