Congratulations to Dane and Jacqueline (Myers) Hasselbring on the birth of their second son! Whalen John was born Feb. 24 and weighted 9 lbs. 2 oz. and was 22 in long. Whalen has a big brother, Lane, and his Griggsville grandparents are Wayne and Kristine Bingham and great-grandparents are Ronald and Carolyn Myers. Fun times are ahead for this little family!
Congratulations to Raylynn White on earning second place in FFA Creed Speaking! She will now move on to the District level of competition. Good luck, Raylynn!
Congratulations go out to Tornado basketball players, Wyatt Lipcaman, Lane Lipcaman and Michael Myers on earning a spot on the WIVC All-Conference Team and the PCC All-Conference Team! Wyatt also received All-State Special Mention by the Illinois Basketball Coach’s Association. Way to work, Gentlemen!

The Griggsville Apple Festival Committee will have a 2023 festival planning meeting March 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Griggsville City Hall. The Committee is looking for committed individuals to help plan and run the festival starting now through September. Please join us!
The Bluffs United Methodist Church will host Joe Arview March 22 at 7 p.m. for an evening of Gospel music. This program is part of the 2023 Bright Star Parish Lenten events.
The North Pike District Library will host the following programs this week and next: March 16 at 2 p.m. – TASC
March 21 at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m – Story Hour
The Pike County Animal Shelter will be at Ace Hardware in Pittsfield March 18 from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. for an adoption event. Call 285-4811 with any questions.
The Griggsville United Methodist Women are now taking orders for their frozen unbaked individual ham loaves to be delivered before Easter. Call or text Linda Patton (217-370-8020); Alice Cripe (217-653-5631) or Jo-an McIntire (217-653-5798).
The Griggsville United Methodist Church will be serving a soup supper March 24 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Soups, sandwiches, desserts and beverages will be served for a freewill donation. Proceeds will go toward the restoration of the large 100+ year old stained glass window in the sanctuary.
The Griggsville Estates will host an Easter Egg hunt April 1 at 2 p.m. at The Estates. This event is open to any child 0-10 years of age living within the Griggsville community. (Rain date will be Apr. 8th)
The Village of Perry will host an Easter Egg hunt April 1 at 1 p.m. in Perry Park. This event is limited to children living in the Perry/Fishhook area.
All children birth to five years of age living in the GP School District are eligible to receive FREE BOOKS monthly through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. To sign up, parents can pick up a form at the Griggsville or Perry school offices. If you have questions, contact Barb Webel at the Griggsville school at 833-2352.
