The Jersey 100 School Board approved a bid for roof restorations at Jersey Community High School during last Thursday’s regular board meeting.
The Facility Committees reviewed bids from three companies with the low bid coming from Henson Robinson from Springfield who submitted bids with 20 year and 30 year warranties, and recommended the bid that came in at $2,872,362 with the 30 year warranty.
The restoration project will require 200 working days for the 153,025 square foot roof. Crews will be working around student schedules and focusing on areas above classrooms after school hours.
The roof is currently out of warranty and has been patched when in need for about the last three years, Superintendent Brad Tuttle noted.
The board also approved a motion to purchase new McGraw-Hill science curriculums for grades six-12 as well as a motion for IHSA and IESA Memberships.
During the meeting, the board also approved the establishment of the 2023-24 district fees that will include an increase in lunch fees due to a 56 percent rise in cost from the district’s food service company. Food service will go out for a rebid next year.
During the administrative reports, the board heard updates about the new turf fields, as well as whats happening at the elementary, middle and high schools.
Next School Board Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 19.
