The April 4 consolidated election is just around the corner and early voting has been under way for quite some time now, so now is a good time to take a look at who is who in the upcoming election.
Both Carrollton and North Greene have races to see who is elected to their school boards. For Carrollton, there is one unexpired two-year term to be filled with Amber Flowers and Keith Alan Graham seeking that position.
There are also three four-year terms to be filled and five candidates seeking those three seats on the board. They are: incumbent Rodney Reif, Robert Scott Bryant, Aaron Mehrhoff, Kari Manker and Jeff Krumwiede.
At North Greene, there are six candidates running for four open four-year seats. Four of those six candidates are incumbents. They are: Kevin Nichols, Rachelle Malin, Casey Kallal and Casey Nell. Those seeking a first term on the board are: Chris Ford and Tracie Holbert.
In Greenfield, there are four candidates running for four open four-year seats. They are Chris Weller, Cody Vinyard, Kate Garner and Josh Roberts.
In city and township elections, the tiny village of Eldred has probably the most interesting of the races. They have six people running for three trustee positions. They are: Patti A. Carey, Lena Robeen, Jennifer Richey, Cody Rogers-Portwood, Robert Vetter and Misty Knapp.
In stark contrast, the village of Kane has three open seats on their board and not one single candidate and no candidate for village clerk. Hillview also has no candidates for their three open village trustee positions.
Rockbridge has three running for three open seats as village trustee. They are: James Ray, John R. Plogger and Edward Kuhnline.
In the city of Carrollton, in Ward 1, incumbent Tim Reif is being challenged by Peggy J. Clough. Ward 2 incumbent Gary Neil Witt is running unopposed and Ward 3 incumbent John Banghart is also running unopposed.
In Greenfield, in Ward 1, voters will choose between Robert K. “Bob” Rivers and John B. Hardwick, Jr. In Ward 2, Tate Custer is running unopposed. In Ward 3, Terry Plogger is going up against Kyle Kuhnline.
There is no race in Roodhouse. All three wards have one candidate running. Kenton McGee in Ward 1, Steven Blackketter in Ward 2 and Wesley Bradford in Ward 3.
In White Hall, Pamela VanMeter is seeking a four-year term in Ward 1 unopposed while Ryan McMillen is seeking to unseat incumbent Brandon S. Roberts to serve a two-year term in Ward 2.
Norman Coad is seeking another four-year term in Ward 3.
