What a fabulous and entertaining weekend in Kampsville. It’s a weekend we all look forward to. The Calhoun Entertainment Company’s Spring Musical, “9 to 5,” was fabulous and so funny. So much talent from the acting, the singing, the art work, the sets, the sound and the directing. Crowds came out and no one left disappointed.
The Kampsville Legion held their Fish Dinner Friday evening with great desserts and on Saturday and Sunday. They also offered Hotdogs and sloppy Joes. We are thankful to the Calhoun Entertainment Company for having Kampsville as their home and thankful to the Center of American Archeology for the use of the Gym.
The Schumann Memorial Park is all decorated and ready for Easter. Make plans to attend the annual St. John’s Lutheran Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8, at 1 p.m. Fun, refreshments, door prizes and fellowship. The McBride Family will be donating the “Grand Bunny” for one lucky little one to win in Memory of “Redeye.” Redeye was a lifelong member of St. John’s and very active in our community.
The Calhoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will be hosting “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” on April 1 from 9-11 a.m. Free of Charge. RSVP call Lea at 618-576-2278.
A huge Happy Birthday to Ron Wendt on March 26. He had a great day celebrating 90 great years. He celebrated with breakfast at the Riverdock with his wife, Betty; and daughter, Jody Yeager, and then they enjoyed the Calhoun Entertainment Company Musical.
Happy 16th Birthday to Ava Clowers, also on the 26th. She’s looking forward to getting her license, but, when your birthday falls on a Sunday, you have to wait till Tuesday to get your license.
Little Maddie Hickson had a great “3 Rex” birthday party this weekend with lots of family, dinosaurs, presents and I heard she got a pretty sweet ride to cruise in as well as a spiffy new bike with an awesome horn. Maddie is the daughter of Adam and Anne Marie Hickson and granddaughter of Rob and Joanne Hickson and Sandi Roundcount and the late Gary Roundcount all of Kampsville.
Congratulations to Samantha Kaufman, daughter of Samual and Courtney Kaufman of Kampsville, and to Jenna Fraley, daughter of Luke and Kari Fraley of Kampsville. They represented Calhoun’s FFA Chapter at State Awards Day and were both in the top five in their categories.
The FFA Students have been busy working in their greenhouse, getting ready for their upcoming Plant Sale.
Please continue prayers for Bob Banghart, Kurt Roth, Jerry Crader, Kathryn Chapman, Darren Kress, Zel Blumenberg, Joe Gress, Raymond Sievers, Isabel McGlaughin, Joyce Blumenberg, Bruce Williams, Justin Williams, Connor Gilman and Cassie Blackwell.
