The Calhoun Warriors defeated the Piasa Southwestern birds on Saturday, April 29, in an away game, 9-3.
The Warriors took an early lead bringing in three runs in the first inning and carried it through to the end allowing only three runs from the Piasa Birds in the final inning.
Lila Simon scored three runs for the Warriors with four hits and four at-bats, Grace Ballard had two runs with four at-bats, and Audrey Gilman, Jaelyn Hill, Lacy Pohlman and Kiera Sievers each scored one run.
Gilman pitched for the Warriors Saturday throwing 15 strikeouts, allowing only three runs in the final inning.
