The Jersey Community Unit School District Board of Education met for a special reorganizational meeting last Wednesday, May 10, where new board members were sworn in, officers were appointed, and committees were decided.
The meeting began with Board President Greg Brown presenting a certificate of appreciation to Kyle Graham who did not seek re-election. Brown thanked Graham for his service to the district.
Next on the agenda was swearing in of the newly elected board members, Brad Hagen and Judy Rowling and re-elected board member Jacob Warford. All three recited the Oath of Office.
Next Superintendent Brad Tuttle was made President pro tem and Greg Brown was re-appointed president, Peggy Purdun was re-appointed vice-president, and David Bryden was re-appointed secretary. The board then recited the Code of Conduct.
In other business, May 2023 through April 2024 meeting dates were approved and committees were established for the year.
Negotiating Committee for Certified Personnel will consist of Brown and Bryden; Negotiating Committee for Non-Certified Personnel will consist of Bryden and Rowling; Facility and Transportation Committee will consist of Bryden and Perdun; Public Relations Committee will consist of Bryden, Perdun, and Warford; Goal Setting and Strategic Planning Committee will consist of Brown and Perdun; Policy Committee (will take effect after June meeting because there is a current policy being reviewed) will consist of Goetten and Rowling; Finance Committee will consist of all Board members.
The Jersey 100 Board of Education meets on the third Thursday of the Month at 6:30 p.m. They are scheduled to meet again on Thursday, May 18.
