A little rain didn’t stop the sixth annual Grafton Chamber Mississippi Masters Golf Tournament at Lockhaven Golf Club in Godfrey on Friday afternoon, with organizers saying the event gathered a great turnout.
Peter Allen, owner of Loading Dock and the Bloody Bucket, headed up the event along with Jamie Clayton and Andrew Jackson. Sponsors were Alton Materials, Demond Signs, RJS Trucking courtesy of Bob Sanders, and Illinois American Water.
Winning the tournament was the team consisting of Scholar, Vanvoorhis, Schelle, and Franklin.
Allen said that he was happy with the participation.
“It’s a great turnout,” he said. “We’re very pleased with it and we’re at 90 percent full– for sketchy weather, that’s great. But we aren’t afraid of a little weather either.”
