High School Principal Beth Bettis discussed the program Capturing Kids’ Hearts with board members at the May 15 Greenfield School Board meeting.
The district purchased the program at the beginning of the school year. The program is designed to equip teachers, coaches, administrators and district leaders to implement transformational processes focused on several different areas.
These include: strengthening trust between teachers and students, improving school culture, creating accountability, building self-managing classrooms, improving academic performance, fostering trauma-informed care and cultivating relational capacity.
“This program is a social and emotional program that benefits both students and staff,” Bettis said. “Communication is emphasized with this program. It has been a success so far and the staff are looking forward to using it again next year.”
Bettis went on to say that all staff attended a two day training on the program.
Andy Stumpf, who will be the new superintendent once he gets his certification, gave the facilities and transportation report. Lambs is still working on the football field entrance and the District Office is still under construction. Bus No. 10 has been painted and is waiting to be decaled. The district is still waiting on a bid from the concrete contractor for the bus garage and the water leak in the IT room has been fixed.
Stumpf reported that six applicants will be hired as summer help. They are: Kellen Bowman, Brody Reif, Kylie Kinser, Naomi Lansaw, Elaina Lansaw and Dominique White.
Following a closed session, several athletic positions were filled for next year. Rachel Kinser and Maddie Nichols were hired as the Pee Wee Girls Volleyball Coaches. Nikki Pembrook was hired as the Junior High Boys’ Track Coach. Morgan Coffey was hired as the High School Girls’ Assistant Volleyball Coach.
The board accepted the resignation of Jimmy White as the Junior High Boys’ Basketball Assistant Coach and then approved him as a volunteer coach.
The board also accepted the resignation of Kathleen Larsen as Teacher Aide at the end of this school year.
