Brown County scored four runs in the fourth inning and beat West Central 8-2 in the Brown County Class A softball regional May 16 at Mt. Sterling.
The Cougars led 1-0 after three innings before Brown County took the lead in the fourth.
West Central’s Hallee Lawson retired the first nine Brown County batters of the game. Lawson allowed eight hits and walked two batters while striking out five.
Rylee Burk doubled to lead West Central.
Brylee Lawson homered to lead West Central to a 16-1 win May 15 over Griggsville-Perry in the first round of the regional.
West Central led 6-1 before scoring seven runs in the third inning. Lawson hit a three-run home run in the inning.
