The Calhoun Warriors won their eighth softball regional in a row at Greenfield on Saturday, May 20.
The Warriors took a 5-1 win over Mulberry Grove to secure the championship spot with Audrey Gilman pitching, allowing only two hits and throwing 17 strikeouts.
Grace Ballard, Anabel Eilerman, Audrey Gilman, Lacy Pohlman and Lila Simon each scored one run for the Warriors Saturday with Ballard getting two hits with three at bats and Eilerman hitting one for three with one RBI.
Calhoun hosted sectional play this week, starting Tuesday, as the Warriors face off against Okawville. Results of the game were not available at press time.
