Original Medicare Part B has a standard monthly premium of $164.90 and a $226 deductible for the year 2023. This premium is deducted from the monthly Social Security benefit that an individual receives. It is only deducted from the Social Security if an individual receives the benefit. For those turning 65, but do not receive Social Security, bills are sent out every three months so that an individual can make a payment. Part B covers physician services received as an inpatient or outpatient; emergency hospital care; ambulance services; medical equipment; medical supplies; home health, if it is not covered by Part A; and other services such as lab fees and tests.
