A new water feature opened over the weekend at Jellystone/Pike Lakes in Pittsfield.
The new facility features two water slides, a run through, splash pads, a water obstacle course and tons of fun.
“We were supposed to have it open in time for the 4th of July,” Bekah Wintjen, park manager said. “But with the mild winter, we were able to open it for Memorial Day.”
Wintjen said it was a great weekend to open as the park was wall-to-wall full of guests. The grounds offer 30 lodging sites and 200 campsites.
In anticipation of the opening, Jelly Stone had a contest. Those who wanted to be the first to go down the slide could enter the contest through Jelly Stone’s Facebook page.
The winner was a Brockhouse family from Arenzville.
“There was a mom, dad and two kiddos,” Wintjen said. “They got to be the first plus the family received t-shirts, souvenirs, merchandise and other gifts. We shot off confetti cannons when they went down. It was a real celebration.”
