West Central was limited to just two hits and fell to Routt 10-0 in the championship game of the Brown County Baseball Sectional May 27 at Mt. Sterling.The Cougars two hits came in the first two innings. Cameron Sievers singled with one out in the first inning, and Dalton Hutton singled with one out in the second. Carson Brown was the only other base runner for West Central. He reached on a walk with one out in the fourth inning. Brown reached second on a ground out but was picked off second base.Routt scored its first run in the second inning without a hit. The leadoff batter was hit by a pitch, and the courtesy runner stole second and reached third base on an error. He scored on a wild pitch.The Rockets led 1-0 after two innings and scored three runs on just one hit in the third inning. Routt scored two runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the sixth inning.Tyson Brown held Routt to just one hit through three innings. He allowed seven hits and walked four batters while striking out five. Sievers pitched to two batters in the sixth inning.
