There will be a bit of magic in the air on the evening of June 8 as the White Hall Lions Club brings famed magician Josh McVicar to town to entertain both children and adults alike.
McVicar will be entertaining the crowd at Lions Park beginning at 6 p.m. and the event is free of charge, thanks to the White Hall Lions Club.
In addition to being a magician, McVicar is also a master hypnotist. He is described as a “comedy showman” with contemporary magic skills and fresh hypnosis skits. Few entertainers in the comedy genre offer a show that is fun and hilarious, yet non-offensive and respectful, but Josh can.”
What is more, he encourages audience participation and interaction in all of his shows and years of experience with all types of audiences has prepared him for just about anything. But is he ready for a Greene County crowd? Time will tell.
“We just wanted to do something to give back to the community who does so much to support us throughout the year,” White Hall Lions Club President Lindsey Coultas said. “Plus, we wanted to give our local youth some free entertainment once a month while they are out of school this summer.”
Each month, the Lions Club has lined up entertainment for the kids to come and enjoy at Lions Park. June is the magic show, July 13 is a show for the younger kids by Babaloo and on Aug. 10, ventriloquist Doug McKann will be on hand, or should we say his dummy will be on his hand.
“The White Hall Lions Club is all about giving back to our community,” Coultas said. “Plus, we are gearing up for our big Fourth of July Celebration which will take place on June 23, 24 and 25.”
Coultas said proceeds from this year’s Fourth of July celebration will be going towards a Community Beautification Project.
“We are planning to possibly have free snow cones and Lazy Dave’s will be set up to sell food to those that might be hungry,” Coultas said.
