Last week, Hardin welcomed a new business on Kennedy Street; Miss Kim’s Tumbling and Dance held their Grand Opening event on Monday, May 29.
Lots of little ones of all ages along with their parents were in attendance, enjoying everything the new business has to offer.
Owner Kim Klaas said that she has always had a passion for tumbling which turned into a passion for teaching tumbling.
“Tumbling has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember,” said Klaas. “As I’ve gotten older, I really have taken a passion for teaching tumbling as well.”
Klaas said she had just been waiting for the right time to make her dream a reality. In the meantime, she has enjoyed working with local youth as coach for the Calhoun Jr. High cheerleaders as well as starting up the JFL cheer program last year.
“Tumbling and dance studio just goes hand-in-hand with the things that I love to do,” Klaas said.
Miss Kim’s offers tumbling classes for ages 18 months and up. They also offer yoga classes twice a week and offer the space for party rentals.
Some other features they offer include, a foam pit with rock wall and slide, “junior ninja play area,” toddler area, a dance floor with mirrors, 30 feet of panel mats and an air floor.
The response has been amazing according to Klaas. Many of the classes are already full, with over 120 spots filled each week with students.
“The support from so many in the community has also been overwhelming and without the support I’ve received from my family, this certainly wouldn’t have been possible,” stated Miss Kim.
Miss Kim’s tumbling and dance employs four teachers as well as herself and Julie Eberlin who will be conducting the yoga classes.
