The Calhoun Unit District 40 School Board held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 16.
Items approved during the meeting were the 2023-24 Athletic and Registration Fees- Lunch increase from $2.60 to $2.80. With other fees remaining the same.
The second motion was an Intergovernmental agreement with Brussels, with the athletic co-op having been renewed for the 2023-2025 school years by both boards. The council then approved the MISSVIC Intergovernmental Agreement-Annual agreement to be part of the insurance co-op and the appointed MISSVIC voting Members-Andrea Lee and Meghan Klunk.
The final two motions approved by the board were the FFA Convention for a student’s trip in June and establishing the class of 2027 Activity Fund-Standard procedure for the new class starting high school.
The council announced some new positional moves as well, such as the resignation of Rod Hart, JH boys basketball, the retirement of teacher of Sue Hillen, and the new hires of New Paul Klunk, Custodian CES, and F/T Bus Route Driver Pam Friedel, Dean of Students, Chelsea Kiel, Speech/Language Pathologist and Sammi Eilerman, Calhoun CUSD #40 Treasurer.
The Calhoun Unit 40 Board of Education meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. However, they are not meeting in June and are scheduled to meet again on Tuesday, July 18.
